Jan Fabre. The Castles in the Hour Blue

02.03.2020 – 04.05.2020

Curator Melania Rossi

The blue hour indicates the passage from the end of the night to the beginning of the day. In the imagination of artist Jan Fabre, the blue hour symbolizes metamorphosis, the dream combining reality and imagination. In the Night Journal which he writes since 1978, he recounts his long sleeplessness sources of fervent creativity. These emotional states are recorded by writing or drawing with a blue Bic blue ballpoint pen, an inexpensive tool for a young artist.
