Carpets and tapestries, handmade or manufactured objects, continue to intrigue and question artists. They are heterogeneous and asymmetrical space, one that moves its creation, and sharing his gaze. TAPISSERIES I LES ESPACES ÉCHANGÉS offers a dynamic wandering from floor to wall to ceiling wall carpets and tapestries artists in relation to the MUba collections. Stephan Balkenhol’s faces and the insects of Jan Fabre, dream worlds Ilya & Emilia Kabakov and Max Ernst or the retro futurism of Panamarenko, a poetic abstraction by Forg Gunther and Pierre Mabille to the materiality of Brassaï or Tony Cragg , hybrids and graphics ramblings of Qubo Gas to the textual ambiguities of Philippe Cazal, the exhibition allows a fresh look at the works. TAPISSERIES also comes into resonance with the textile history of Tourcoing and its territory.
