The exhibition is based on an essay by Gilbert & George about the vocation and ethical standard of contemporary artist who – actually alone – has the decision about narrative and language in his hand. The contemporary “speaking artist” takes the responsibility about the very message, about the powerful transmission of his vision, of his view about our recent reality, about the chance of the artist to participate in making this reality more conscious, more clear and evident. The show SPEAKING ARTISTS wants to emphasize the very potentiality of the specially created and applied “parole”, that means: the very power of the strong and teleologically structured, dramaturgically organized special language of the visual art.
